Intro Stained Glass Class

When: September 11 - 13, 2017 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Where: Captain's Quarters Stained Glass, 180 Lewistown Rd, Beaufort, NC 28516 (upstairs - must be able to climb stairs)

Level of experience required: Beginner / Novice

Project: Candleholder

Overview: Students will watch an interactive DVD of the Stained Glass process. Each student will practice cutting the sides of their piece, foiling the

project using various techniques, and soldering

a selection of designs for the front of their candle holder. Some items will be prepared in advance to facilitate completion.

Details - It's time to get started on Christmas Ornaments, believe it or not! It seems everyone wants to make their own this year so I am having a few classes to get everyone ready. Don't worry though if you would rather shop - there will be plenty available. I plan to start early this year!

In order to make your own ornaments, you will need a basic understanding of the stained glass process. I am holding several introduction classes in the month of September and will follow up in October with Christmas Ornament classes. The introduction classes will be held in my studio - Captain's Quarters Stained Glass - on Monday September 11, Tuesday September 12, and Wednesday September 13 from 5:30 until approx 8:00 pm. Cost of the class is $30.00 and you should be able to finish with a nice candle holder for your efforts. You must RSVP to secure your spot. There will only be room for 4 students per night - so please - if you cannot commit to the time, do not RSVP.

If you have already taken a class with me, you are welcome to take the intro class as well. However, you will not be required to take the intro class to take the Christmas Ornaments classes. Christmas Ornament classes will be set up at the end of the introduction class with the students that want to proceed and available dates will be announced sometime the following week.

Anyone that wants some one-on-one time from now until Christmas is welcome to check with me for availability. I generally "gear up" my ornament production starting in September.
